I have a research seminar planned for next Wednesday 2 May 2012, please come if you can.
DART Seminar 6:
Where is Curating if It is Not in the Institution?
Led by Iain Irving, Curator/Lecturer, Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen
Wed 2 May 2.00pm – 5.00pm
Venue: SB05, Scott Sutherland Building, Robert Gordon University, Garthdee Road, Aberdeen AB10 7QD
With special guests:
Dr Andrew Patrizio, Professor of Scottish Visual Culture, Edinburgh College of Art.
Emma Nicolson, Director, ATLAS, Isle of Skye
This seminar will discuss the essence of curating and where and how we might identify it. There will also be discussion on art projects which have been curated out with the standard institutions, as a way to honing in on the 2% (curating) as opposed to the 98% (everything else that needs to happen).
In addition to paper presentations and discussions, there will also be a little lite curating activity during this seminar.
DART – Discussions Around the Research Table is a series of seminars that began in 2010 presenting research by students and staff of Grays School of Art.
All are welcome.
